- I dunno. - replied Jimmy - Just a good feeling about everything. A good feeling about life in general, you know? We can't always be down and miserable right? We're allowed that i hope! There are good things out there. Good people, good ideas. I can't explain it in a better way. I just feel it in my guts. And I don't even know if gut feelings are made to be explained. Maybe they're here just to be felt? Some sort of gateway to another dimension.
- Wow! - replied a half amused, half interested Marcus - So, basically, you're tellin' me that you have a good feeling about nothing and about everything?
- Yes. Basically, yes. - Jimmy noticed, somewhat uneasily, the mocking grin that had just landed on Marcus' face, but he pressed on - I guess it's better to have a good feeling about 'nothing' than to not have any good feelings at all, don't you agree?. Just feeling that there is a way, that there is a possibility, that there are lots of doors in front of you and that not all of them are locked, that you just need to persevere and really try them all until you find a good one. If you want a cliché saying it's like where there's a will, there's a way, got it?
Marcus laughed and smiled at Jimmy
- Are you fuckin' in love god damn it? - and he laughed even louder - Well, ok. That's a very pretty thought. It's not completely untrue...but feeling it the way you are feeling, well, beware you might find more locked doors in the end.
- No need to be in love Marcus. It's just a feeling, a positive vibe that sometimes we can pick up in the air waves. And sometimes why not let it go through you and feel it with a renewed sense of hope?
- That's very beautiful and all - said Marcus - but life has taught me that it isn't like that, not most of the times, and not for everyone.
- Damn it Marcus!! I know! Don't take me as a naïve fool! I know life isn't like this all the time. But it can be 'sometimes'. I know it's not a feeling that will stay forever....but since it's here, might as well make the most of it. Enjoy it for what it is! Why dismiss it right from the start?
- Well...what can i say, except 'good luck'? - and turning to the bartender - I'll have whatever my friend's drinking, please! And make it a double! "
